Wherever you live, it's becoming apparent that something's going on. Something the government or whoever's in charge won't tell you about. People deny it - that's what you humans do best - but there IS something going on, you just know it. Those people who came by last week and lodged at your house, drinking your tea and eating your crumpets... they DEFINITELY weren't normal.
Well, I'm here to tell you you're stark right. The whole thing's a massive conspiracy, and the existence of two races and a planet are at stake.

My name's Kyukiitsu Sarkova (Kai-oh-kite-so Sar-koh-vah) (but you can call me Fast), and I've seen things you've never even dreamed of (Narrow-minded humans...). There are many universes beyond this one, and some are completely cut off from us (Like The Remnant Grid and The Hub).
Why am I here? I'm here to save your race from extinction! If you would be kind enough to help us in our cause, you might just survive.

Mechanics, Engines and Systems

Now, there are many Mechanics in The Alpha Conspiracy that are untried and untested. Allow me to explain some of them in varying degrees of detail, depending on how much I can be bothered to try

The Karma Mechanic is first on the list. THAT'S WHAT ALIGNMENT'S FOR FOLKS! Your Alignment dictates how people will judge you. If you think this is pointless, you're WRONG. You need to have the right Alignment, or civvies are gonna run away screaming and you won't find out anything about the situation. However, certain Alignments will gain you more trust from people - ie: Drekzs lean more towards the Chaotics, and bad guys lean more towards the Evils (If you're having to talk to an antagonistic Drekzs (*coughmxcough*), Chaotic Evil is the way to go!).

The Song Mechanic is an unusual mechanic, but quite a fun one. People like music, and it often contains clues. For example, most of the Crew are named after words in the song Trail of The Survivor. The lyrics to a song can be found almost anywhere, and it takes a sharp, analytical mind to find the clues hidden within.

THe Picture Mechanic is as it sounds. I post a picture which is a clue, you have to find what it is or why it's a clue. Or maybe it just has information that you need. Same goes for the Note Mechanic. The only differences between them is the format, same applying for Song Mechanic. Theoretically, it should be a collective Clue Mechanic

The Hacking Mechanic can go two ways - if you are a skilled hacker or a technologically minded person (this must be stated in Abilities or Bio or Personality), then you will get clues along with the crypted codes. If you're not skilled at all, you get less or no clues. Looking around can find you more clues, maybe. Quite a few hacks will be like puzzles, and some will be a lot harder than others. You can always ask for help. This and various other things often contribute to the Puzzle Mechanic, where you have clues and must solve a problem or puzzle.

The Battle System is a Thatch Battle Mechanic. This means that the host(it's hosts! you don't forget me dammit!~chaosmancer) GMs (therefore it is GM not GMs~chaosmancer) enemies and separates the actions into manageable paragraphs. You then respond to each paragraph of action with one of your own, dictating what your character does against the attacks and how they fight back.

Scenario 1 - Trade ~ Karma Mechanic

Trade's Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Trade's Karma: -100 (He got -20 points for being as scary as the Trickster (Though he's less ugly and freaky))

Tasked with an important intel-gathering mission, Trade heads towards the gates of the nearest citadel.

The more muscled of the two Kurodanian guards stops him and looks him up and down suspiciously.

'You don't look like the type we'd like in our city,' he said bluntly, 'The only way for someone like you to come through is to get a City Pass... Good luck on that one, mate.'

There's a slum nearby, full of hoodlums and hobos. Maybe there's a Guest Pass somewhere there...

Knowing that this mission depended on him getting into the citadel, Trade headed over to the slums and into his favourite domain - chaos.

His dark cloak swept around him as he proceeded, giving out an eerie feel. He headed towards the centre of the slum.

A particularly shady-looking teen comes up to Trade and tugs on his cloak.

'So, I 'ear you wanna get into the city, innit?' he asked in a typical chavvish manner.


Train's Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Train's Karma Level: <-50

'Yeah, kid, I am,' Trade replied, 'You wouldn't happen to have a Guest Pass, would you?'

'I'd even be willing to... hehe... Trade,' he added. He couldn't help but laugh at the little joke he made.

The teen dug around in his pocket and tossed Trade a Guest Pass.

''ere's your side of the bargain,' he said, 'Wherever you're from, I wanna see, yeah? So take me with you an' stuff.'

Scenario 2 - Eyes ~ Song Mechanic

A soft tune could be heard bristling the air. It was a sad tune, in some respects, but certainly a very beautiful one.

The source of the music was a young Kyofu girl sat on a swing just ahead. She had black hair that went to red at the tips and was wearing a large yellow bow in her hair, jeans, T-shirt, denim jacket and trainers.

’Promise me we’ll stay for the sunset~ And when the moon shines through the darkness~ We can find a path that leads us home~ And on the way you’ll, maybe, sing me a song~ Promise that you always will be there~ Hold my hand if ever I’m real scared~ Help me stand up tall if I fall down~ Make me laugh away on my bluest days~

How could you promise you always would be there~!? Why’d you have to go away somewhere~? Every morning into every night, do you watch over me like the sun in the sky~? Am I all alone, or standing in your light~? I wish that I could, maybe, sing you a song tonight~’

Eyes listened to the girl’s singing with a slightly quizzical expression. Why did she sound so sad? Singing was supposed to be a happy thing to do, yet there was sorrow laced deep in her voice.

Wishing to hear why the girl was so sad, Eyes snaked closer as quietly as he could.

Hearing a slight slithering noise, the girl looked up slightly.

‘Sky?’ she asked, uncertain.

The girl had spoken in such a way that made Eyes wonder what she was talking about. She obviously wasn’t referring to the sky, as the context was wrong. But the way she’d said it made it seem like she really wanted to see this Sky.

Then it clicked. The Sky she was referring to was Sky Kan.

He did a Profile Scan just to make sure.

Target: Sail Kan, Kyofu, 14, Female

OBJECTIVE COMPLETE

Scenario 3 - Plains ~ Picture Mechanic

Plains was having a "day off". People needed them, people were given them.

But running away from a speedy paparazzi girl who could control the wind was no easy matter.

Plains decided to hide to see if he could divert the other tengu's attention. It worked and, as she slipped by, she dropped a picture.



One of those people is definitely familiar... Heck, they both are! It's the Suzakus!

Plains choked back his laughter as he observed this image.

'Isn't Suzaku U married? Or at least a mourning widower,' he said to himself, 'And Fire's Song has Kyu AND Chaos... He doesn't exactly look like he's enjoying it, but Suzaku U looks like he's playing around... Interesting... What's paparazzi doing with this, though? And how so close?'

'Maybe it's a Soul Camera...'
